The main objective of the paper is to provide specific techniques for spin glass computations with the Ruelle's Probability Cascades (RPC), and the latter is restricted to the case of finite number of branching levels where the definitions of the Generalized Random Energy Model (GREM) and RPC turn to be similar. The quasi-stationarity property of the GREM is studied, and one shows that, under some conditions, functionals on RPC coincide with Parisi-like functionals. Using the RPC structure, one provides a new derivation of the Almeida-Thouless line, and one comes back to the connection between the Aizenman-Sims-Starr variational principle and the Parisi formula.
