    For \(q=e^{2\pi iz},\) \(\Im z>0,\) Ramanujan's theta functions are defined by \[ \phi(q)=\sum_{n=-\infty}^{+\infty}q^{n^2}, \qquad \psi(q)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}q^{\frac{n(n+1)}{2}}, \qquad f(-q)=\prod_{k=0}^{\infty}(1-q^{k+1}). \] In the paper under review, the authors consider Ramanujan-Selberg continued fraction \(S_1(q)\) defined by \[ S_1(q):=\frac{q^{1/8}\psi(q)}{\phi(q)}, \qquad | q| <1, \] and closely related continued fraction \(H(q)\) defined by \[ H(q):=\frac{f(-q)}{q^{1/8}f(-q^4)}=\frac{\phi(-q^2)}{q^{1/8}\psi(q)}, \qquad | q| <1. \] Using modular equations of Ramanujan the authors find some relations between \(H(q)\) and \(H(q^n),\) and \(S_1(q)\) and \(S_1(q^n)\) for \(n=3,5,7.\) The authors mention on the connection of \(H(q)\) and \(S_1(q)\) with the parameter \[ r_{k,n}:=\frac{f(-q)}{k^{1/4}q^{(k-1)/24}f(-q^k)}, \quad q=e^{-2\pi\sqrt{n/k}}, \quad n,k \in {\mathbb R}_{>0}, \] introduced by \textit{J.~Yi} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 292, No. 4, 381--400 (2004; Zbl 1060.11027)], which is given by the formulas \[ \begin{alignedat}{2} H(e^{-\pi\sqrt{n}})&=\sqrt{2}r_{4,n}, &\qquad H(e^{-\pi/\sqrt{n}})&=\frac{\sqrt{2}}{r_{4,n}}, \\ S_1(e^{-\pi\sqrt{n}})&=\frac{r_{4,n}}{2^{1/4}r_{2,2n}^3}, &\qquad S_1(e^{-\pi/\sqrt{n}})&=r_{4,n}S_1(e^{-\pi\sqrt{n}}). \end{alignedat} \] By applying some eta-function identities of Yi, the authors explicitly evaluate the values of \(r_{4,n}\) for \(n=2,3,\ldots, 11,13,15,\ldots, 19,23,25,31,36,49.\) Finally, using the values of \(r_{2,n}\) found by Yi, they calculate the values of \(H(e^{-\pi\sqrt{n}}), H(e^{-\pi/\sqrt{n}}), S_1(e^{-\pi\sqrt{n}}), S_1(e^{-\pi/\sqrt{n}})\) for \(n\) mentioned above.
