Let \(X,Y\) be compact Hausdorff spaces and \(V,Z\) be Banach spaces. Let \(C(X, V),C(Y,Z)\) be the corresponding vector-valued continuous function spaces. These spaces are equipped with a semi-norm associated with the diameter of the range defined by \[ \rho(f) = \text{diam}(f(X))=\sup\{\| f(x)-f(y)\| : x,y \in X\}. \] A linear bijection \(T: C(X,V) \rightarrow C(Y,Z)\) is said to be diameter preserving if \(\text{diam}(f(X)) =\text{diam}(T(f)(Y))\) for \(f \in C(X,V)\). The structure of such maps in the case of scalar-valued functions was investigated by \textit{M.\,Györy} and \textit{L.\,Molnár} [Arch.\ Math.\ 71, No.\,4, 301--310 (1998; Zbl 0928.46034)] and in the vector-valued case, when the spaces are \(L^1\)-preduals, by the reviewer and \textit{A.\,K.\thinspace Roy} [J.~Aust.\ Math.\ Soc.\ 70, No.\,3, 323--335 (2001; Zbl 1027.46009)]. In this interesting paper, the authors show that the same structure theorem holds when \(Z\) is rotund and \(Z^\ast\) satisfies a geometric condition similar to rotundity. In particular, the conclusion holds for \(L^p\)-spaces for \(1<p<\infty\).
