The authors present a newly-built blind detection for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems via the sum-product algorithm and Monte Carlo approximation in factor graphs. Initial samples of the virtual-pilot tones are generated instead of drawing initial samples of the channel vector directly. Only one pilot tone is required in resolving the phase ambiguity. Some simulation results are presented to show the performance improvement over the previous blind sequential Monte Carlo detection.
