In the article under review, the authors discover new genus-2 and 3 universal equations for Gromov-Witten invariants. Here is an outline of how they derived these equations. By taking into account known relations in genus \(0,1\) and 2 and the fact that \(\psi_1^2 \psi_2\) on \(\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{3,2}\) is a linear combination of the fundamental classes of boundary strata and \(\psi\)-classes, they first write down an undetermined universal linear dependence relation (3.1) between 105 3-tensors in the big phase space [\textit{X. Liu}, Adv. Math. 169, No. 2, 313--375 (2002; Zbl 1105.14075)]. Then they use the Virasoro constraints for Gromov-Witten invariants of a point and of a projective line to determine 104 independent linear relations between the unknown coefficients in (3.1) and deduce that some 3-tensor must vanish, from which they obtain the above-mentionned new universal equations for Gromov-Witten invariants.
