Let \(p\in (1,N)\), \(\eta\in (0,\infty)\), \(\mu_1,\mu_2\in [0,(N-p)^p/p^p)\), with \(\mu_2\leq \mu_1\), and let \(\alpha,\beta\in (1,\infty)\), with \(\alpha+\beta=\frac{pN}{N-p}\). For \(\eta\) sufficiently large and under certain additional conditions on the parameters \(\mu_2,\mu_1\), the author finds explicit positive minimizers for the following best Sobolev-type constant \[ {\inf_{(u,v)\in D^2\setminus\{(0,0)\}}\frac{{\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}}\biggl(|\nabla u|^p+|\nabla v|^p-\frac{\mu_1|u|^p+\mu_2|v|^p}{|x|^p}\biggr)dx}{{\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}}\biggl(|u|^{\frac{pN}{N-p}}+|v|^{\frac{pN}{N-p}}+\eta|u|^\alpha|v|^\beta\biggr)dx}}, \] where \(D\) is the completion on \(C_0^\infty(\mathbb{R}^N)\) with respect to the norm \({\biggl(\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}|\nabla(\cdot)|^pdx}\biggr)^{\frac{1}{p}}\). Then, for \(p\geq 2\) and \(N\geq p^2\), the author applies the above result to establish the existence of positive solutions to the quasilinear system \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta_p v-\mu_2 \frac{|v|^{p-2}v}{|x|^p}=\frac{\eta \beta(N-p)}{Np}\,|v|^{\beta-2}\,|u|^\beta v+|v|^{\frac{Np}{N-p}-2}u+\frac{1}{p}Q'_t(u,v) &\text{ in }\Omega,\\ u=v=0&\text{ on }\Omega,\end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\) is a smooth bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), with \(0\in \Omega\), and \(Q=Q(s,t)\) is a \(p\)-homogeneous \(C^1\)-function. Analogous results are proved for the constant \[ {\inf_{(u,v)\in D^2\setminus\{(0,0)\}}\frac{{\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}}\biggl(|\nabla u|^p+|\nabla v|^p-\frac{\mu_1|u|^p+\mu_2|v|^p}{|x|^p}\biggr)dx}{{\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}}\biggl(|u|^q+\eta|v|^q)^{\frac{Np}{q(N-P)}}\biggr)dx}}, \] where \(q\in (1,Np/(N-p))\), and for a corresponding quasilinear system of the above type. Main ingredients of the proofs are the Mountain Pass Theorem and the Lion's Concentration Compactness Principle.
