The authors consider the eigenvalues of the following buckling-type problem on the \(N\)-dimensional unit ball \[ \begin{cases} \Delta^2u+k^2u=-\lambda\Delta u,\quad & \text{in }B_1\\ u=\partial_r u=0,\quad &\text{on }\partial B_1,\end{cases} \] and study their dependence on the parameter \(k\). They characterize the entire spectrum via zeros of Bessel functions for any \(k\geq 0\), and provide also closed forms for the eigenfunctions. They also study how the eigenvalues interlace in dependence of \(k\). In the last section, they study the nodal properties of the eigenfunctions, showing that, for \(k\) small, the first eigenvalue is simple and the associated eigenfunction is positive, while for \(k\) large they compute the exact number of nodal regions.
