A vector field X on a Riemannian manifold \((M, g)\) is called a Killing field if for the corresponding Lie derivation \(L_X\) we have \(L_Xg = 0\). Such fields may be considered as infinitesimal isometric transformations of \((M,g)\). In this paper Killing vector fields of constant length on homogeneous Riemannian manifolds are investigated. There is a close connection between Killing vector fields of constant length and Clifford-Wolf translations on a Riemannian manifold \((M, g)\). For a compact Lie group \(G\) with a bi-invariant Riemannian metric \(g\), the group of left translations (and the group of right translations too) has Killing vector fields of constant length. In this paper some more interesting examples are considered. Then, several structural results on the Lie algebras of transitive isometry groups of a compact homogenous Riemannian manifold with nontrivial Killing vector fields of constant length are proved. Also, some important properties of Killing vector fields of constant length for four series of Hermitian symmetric pairs are described. At last some unsolved questions and problems are stated.
