This is a work on compact Kähler manifolds. The author gives an integral inequality for Kähler classes which contain a constant scalar curvature Kähler metric. Equivalence holds for Bochner-Kähler metrics. This inequality is a refinement of Yau's Chern number inequality. A corollary is that a Bochner-Kähler metric must be an extremal metric. Examples are given and open questions are posed. An example of a Fano manifold, first noticed by Batyrev to disprove an old conjecture, is used to illustrate that for some Kähler classes the lower bound in this inequality is strictly larger than a certain well-known bound.
