The paper gives proofs of the following two important results. Theorem 1. For any integer \(n\geq 3\) there exists a positive integer \(\delta_n\) (explicitely expressible as a function of \(n\)) with the following property. For any generic hypersurface \(X\) in \(\mathbb{P}_n\) of degree \(\delta\geq\delta_n\), there is no nonconstant holomorphic map from \(\mathbb{C}\) to \(X\). Theorem 2. For any integer \(n\geq 2\) there exists a positive integer \(\delta^*_n\) (explicitely expressible as a function of \(n\)) with the following property. For any generic hypersurface \(X\) in \(\mathbb{P}_n\) of degree \(\delta\geq\delta^*_n\), there is no nonconstant holomorphic map from \(\mathbb{C}\) to \(\mathbb{P}\setminus X\).
