It is a well-known fact that if \(H\) is a closed subgroup of a compact Lie group \(G\), then every \(G\)-map \(p: E\to G/H\) is a \(G\)-fibration. One of the aims of the paper under review is to show that this still holds for any compact metrizable (not necessarily Lie) group \(G\). Using the fact that a \(G\)-space \(E\) is regarded as the twisted product \(G\times_H F\) for some \(H\)-space \(F\) if and only if there exists a \(G\)-map \(E\to G/H\), the authors formulate their main theorem as follows: if \(H\) is a closed subgroup of a compact metrizable group \(G\) and if \(p: E\to B\) is an \(H\)-fibration, then the \(G\)-map \(\tilde{p}=G\times_H p: G\times_H E\to G\times_H B\) is a \(G\)-fibration. The authors then apply the main result to study strong \(G\)-fibrations. They show that under the same assumption, every \(G\)-map \(p: E\to G/H\) is a \(G\)-fibration provided \(E\) is a \(G\)-fibrant space. They also show that if \(H\) is a large subgroup of a compact metrizable group \(G\) and if \(p: E\to B\) is a strong \(H\)-fibration, then the \(G\)-map \(\tilde{p} =G\times_H p: G\times_H E\to G\times_H B\) is a strong \(G\)-fibration.
