On local compactness of the subspace \(FP_{2}(X)\) of \(FP(X)\) (Q897986)

Let \(X\) be the topological sum of a Tychonoff space \(Y\) and a discrete space \(D\). It is shown that the subspace \(FP_2(X)\) of the free paratopological group \(FP(X)\) consisting of words of length not exceeding \(2\) is locally compact if and only if the subspace \(FP_2(Y)\) of the free paratopological group \(FP(Y)\) is locally compact.
