Let \((M,J,g)\) be a Norden manifold (that is, an almost complex manifold \((M,J)\) with a pseudo-Riemannian metric \(g\) such that \(J\) is \(g\)-symmetric). It is well known that there exists a unique linear connection \(D\), called the natural canonical connection, defined by \(D_XY=\nabla_XY-\frac12J(\nabla_XJ)Y\), where \(\nabla\) is the Levi-Civita connection of \(g\). A generalized complex structure \(\widehat J\) is defined on the generalized tangent bundle \(E=TM\oplus T^*M\) of a Norden manifold: \(\widehat J(X+\xi)=J(X)+g(X)-J^*(\xi)\), where \(J^*\) is the dual operator of \(J\). It is shown that \(\widehat J\) is \(D\)-integrable. An analogous statement is given for the associated metric \(\widetilde g\) (with associated natural canonical connection \(\widetilde D\) and generalized complex structure \(\widetilde J\)). The author describes the \(\pm i\)-eigenbundles of \(\widehat J\), \(E_{\widehat J}^{1,0}\) and \(E_{\widehat J}^{0,1}\), and finds conditions under which they are complex Lie algebroids. In particular, in a Kähler-Norden manifold, it is proved that these eigenbundles always are complex Lie algebroids. In the last part of the paper, the generalized \(\overline{\partial}_{\widehat J}\)-operator is defined and some generalized holomorphic sections are described.
