A finitely generated module \(C\) over a commutative ring \(S\) is \textit{semidualizing} if the map \(S\to \mathrm{Hom}_S(C,C)\), \(s\mapsto (x\mapsto sx)\) is an isomorphism and \(\mathrm{Ext}_S^i(C,C)=0\) for all \(i>0\); moreover, \(C\) is called \textit{trivial} if \(C=S\) or \(C\) is the dualizing module. Let \(G\) be a cyclic group of order \(p^m\) (where \(p\) is a prime) acting via linear substitutions of the (finitely many) variables in a formal power series ring \(S\) over a field of characteristic different from \(p\). The main result of the paper is that the ring of invariants \(S^G\) has only trivial semidualizing modules.
