Estimates of the series remainders of Leibniz series (Q902161)

For the Leibniz series \(\sum_{k=1}^{\infty}\left( -1\right) ^{k-1}a_{k}\), where \(\left( a_{k}\right) \) is a convex sequence with \(a_{k}\downarrow0,\) the authors obtain the estimates \[ \frac{1}{2}a_{N}\leq\sum_{k=N}^{\infty}\left( -1\right) ^{k-N}a_{k}\leq \frac{1}{2}a_{N-1}\text{ \;}\left( N\geq2\right) . \]
