The flow of Agrawal's axisymmetric stagnation-point flow impinging normal to a rotating disk [\textit{H. L. Agrawal}, Q. J. Mech. Appl. Math. 10, 42--44 (1957; Zbl 0077.38703)] is studied for the case of an infinite disk, whereby a similarity reduction of the Navier-Stokes equations is available. This similarity reduction leads to a nonlinearly coupled pair of ordinary differential equations governed by the dimensionless rotation parameter \(\sigma_0\). The interesting feature is that the flow induced into the boundary layer and the Agrawal flow has two components -- one proportional to the normal coordinate and the other constant. Integrations are carried out to \(\sigma = 30\) beyond which the equations become too stiff to ensure solution independence of integration length. Results for the radial and azimuthal shear stresses are presented along with the strength of the flow induced into the boundary layer and the thickness of the azimuthal flow boundary layer. However, as it is \(\sigma^2\) that appears in the governing equations, it seen that the parameter space for these integrations is rather large, spanning the range \(0\leq \sigma \leq 900\). Analytic results found at \(\sigma = 0\) are shown to be in excellent agreement with the numerical calculations. Sample velocity profiles for the radial and azimuthal flows are presented.
