This paper considered the smooth solution \(u:\mathbb{R}^n\times [0,T]\rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) of the biharmonic heat flow \[ \frac{\partial}{\partial t}u=-\Delta^2u. \tag{eqn} \] Under a global assumption \[ t|\Delta u|^2(x,t)\leq k_0<\infty,\quad k_0\in\mathbb{R}^+, \forall x\in\mathbb{R}^n, \forall t\in[0,T], \tag{asump} \] the authors proved a local estimate for such solution both in space and in time. As an application, the authors shown that the smooth solution of ({eqn}) with the assumption ({asump}) is uniquely determined by its initial value. An advantage of the approach in proving this uniqueness theorem is that they do not require any non-negativity of the solution. While the non-negativity assumption is crucial in the uniqueness problem of the classical heat flow.
