A classical result of \textit{G. C. Evans} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 37, 226--253 (1935; JFM 61.0529.03)] characterizes the compact sets \(K\) of \(\mathbb{R}^n\) of \(\alpha\)-capacity zero, and \textit{H. Wallin} [Ark. Mat. 5, 55--84 (1963; Zbl 0134.09404)] proved that a compact set \(K\) has \(k\)-capacity zero if and only if every continuous function on \(K\) is the restriction to \(K\) of a continuous potential in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) for a suitable kernel \(k\). The author generalized the problem to nonlinear \(L^p\)-potential theory and solved the extension problem for Bessel potentials [Ark. Mat. 13, 263--271 (1975; Zbl 0314.31005)] and Sobolev functions [Pac. J. Math. 78, 261--266 (1978; Zbl 0386.31008)]. In the present paper, using the potential theory developed by \textit{B. Fuglede} [Acta Math. 103, 139--215 (1960; Zbl 0115.31901)], the author extends the classical potential theory in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) to the potential theory in the homogeneous spaces of \textit{R. R. Coifman} and \textit{G. Weiss} [Analyse harmonique non-commutative sur certains espaces homogènes. Etude de certaines intégrales singulières. New York: Springer-Verlag (1971; Zbl 0224.43006)]. The construction is systematic and clear.
