The authors consider operator semigroups on locally convex spaces and give conditions on a space \(X\) and an operator \(A\in L(X)\), so that it generates a uniformly continuous (or \(C_0\)-) semigroup given by an exponential series expansion. Further, they give some related results (``examples'') concerning the situation for Köthe echelon spaces and for diagonal operators on power series spaces. Still further results (``counterexamples'') show when the considered conditions do not work.
