The author gives a simplified proof of a theorem proved in his doctoral thesis [BMO-regularity in lattices of measurable functions and interpolation. St. Petersburg, Russia: St. Petersburg Department of the Steklov Mathematical Institute (2011)]. Theorem. Assume that \(X\) is an \(A_{1}\)-regular lattice of measurable functions satisfying the Fatou property, and let \(Q\) be a projection that is also a Calderón-Zygmund operator. Then the couple \((L_{1}^{Q}, X^{Q})\) is \(K\)-closed in \((L_{1}, X)\) with a constant depending only on the \(A_{1}\)-regularity constant of \(X\) and properties of \(Q\). A lattice \(X\) is called \(A_{p}\)-regular with constants \((C,m)\) if for any \(f\in X\) there exists a majorant \(w\geq |f|\) such that \(||w||_{X}\leq m||f||_{X}\) and \(w \in A_{p}\) with a constant \(C\). Here, \(A_{p}\) is the class of all Muckenhoupt weights [\textit{E. M. Stein}, Harmonic analysis: Real-variable methods, orthogonality, and oscillatory integrals. With the assistance of Timothy S. Murphy. Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press (1993; Zbl 0821.42001)]. For the rather technical definition of \(X^{Q}\) spaces, we refer the reader to the paper. As a general remark, it seems to us that the present paper is interesting for harmonic analysts.
