Let \(p\) be a prime number, \(A\) be the mod \(p\) Steenrod algebra (the Bockstein free part if \(p\) is odd) and \(\mathcal{U}\) be the category of unstable \(A\)-modules. We denote by \(\mathcal{F}\) (resp. \(\mathcal{P}\)) the category of functors from the category of finite dimensional \(\mathbb{F}_{p}\)-vector spaces to the category of \(\mathbb{F}_{p}\)-vector spaces (resp. the category of strict polynomial functors) (see [\textit{H.-W. Henn} et al., Am. J. Math. 115, No. 5, 1053--1106 (1993; Zbl 0805.55011)]). The category \(\mathcal{P}\) decomposes as a direct sum \(\oplus_{d \geq 0}\mathcal{P}_{d}\) of its sub-categories of homogeneous functors of degree \(d\). In [J. Algebra 324, No. 4, 860--874 (2010; Zbl 1201.55005)], \textit{Nguyen Dang Ho Hai} showed that the ``natural'' functor \(\mathcal{P}_{d} \rightsquigarrow \mathcal{F}\) factors through \(\mathcal{U}\) by a functor \(\overline{m}_{d} : \mathcal{P}_{d} \rightsquigarrow \mathcal{U}\). The aim of this paper is to prove that Hai's functor \(\overline{m}_{d} : \mathcal{P}_{d} \rightsquigarrow \mathcal{U}\) is fully faithful.
