The paper under review establishes machinery -- an algebraic duality resolution -- to be used in \(K(2)\)-local calculations at the prime \(p = 2\). This machinery plays a key role in subsequent work of the author [The chromatic splitting conjecture at \(n=p=2\), Preprint, \url{arXiv:1502.02190}; Towards \(\pi_* L_K(2)V(0)\) at \(p=2\), Preprint, \url{arXiv:1501.06082}] and extends work of \textit{P. G. Goerss} et al. [Ann. Math. (2) 162, No. 2, 777--822 (2005; Zbl 1108.55009)] at the prime 3 to the prime 2. As the author notes, this resolution was known to experts, but not previously recorded in the literature. Beyond merely recording the construction, the paper under review gives a thorough treatment of relevant background (including a useful appendix on the algebra of profinite groups), related work, and applications.
