\textit{M. Strauch} [Adv. Math. 217, No. 3, 889--951 (2008; Zbl 1140.22017)] proved the Lefschetz trace formula for Lubin-Tate spaces by using tools that are rather specific to the situation. In [J. Reine Angew. Math. 694, 85--128 (2014; Zbl 1327.14096)], \textit{Y. Mieda} made the Lefschetz trace formula available for a large class of rigid analytic varieties (in the setting of adic spaces) under some conditions. \textit{Y. Mieda} [Math. Res. Lett. 19, No. 1, 95--107 (2012; Zbl 1285.22016)] checked that those conditions are satisfied for Lubin-Tate spaces and reproves Strauch's formula. To do so, he studied actions on boundary strata, which seems difficult to generalize. In the paper under review, the author finds another way to check Mieda's conditions by studying the action on the cells of Fargues's locally finite decompositions of the Lubin-Tate spaces. This provides another proof of Strauch's formula. The advantage of this approach is that it may be applied in other situations where locally finite cells decomposition are available such as some unitary group Rapoport-Zink spaces (see [the author, Math. Ann. 360, No. 3--4, 825--899 (2014; Zbl 1348.14071)]) and basic Rapoport-Zink spaces for \(\mathrm{GSp}_4\).
