Multilevel iterative methods, including preconditioned conjugate gradient methods, are used in the numerical solution of linear systems arising from the successive refinement of the discretization scheme of boundary value problems for partial differential equations. These methods are generalized for the nonsymmetric multilevel case, and the optimal order of computational complexity is found.
