Families of bodies with definite common supports (Q910001)

Support of a collection C of convex bodies in \({\mathbb{R}}^ d\) is a transversal H of C which does not intersect the interior of the bodies, it is a definite support if C lies in the closure of the same component of \({\mathbb{R}}^ d\setminus H\). In the paper, geometric and combinatorial conditions for the existence of definite supports are stated. The results are relevant to optimization theory, too.
