In a regular domain \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}}^ N\), the nonlinear equation \[ div(| \nabla u|^{p-2} \nabla u)+| u|^{q-1}u=0 \] is considered, where \(p\leq N\), \(0<p-1<p.\) Beginning with the work of Emden and of Fowler, the case \(p=2\) has been studied extensively. For the general case \(p>1\), the first results on positive radial solutions were obtained by Ni and Serrin (1986) who pointed out the role of two critical values, namely \[ Q_ 1=N(p-1)/(N- p)\quad and\quad Q_ 2=Q_ 1+p/(N-p), \] when \(p<N\). In the present paper, the author studies firstly the isolated singularities and the behaviour near infinity in the nonradial case, when \(p<N\) and \(q<Q_ 1\), or when \(p=N\). Then the author gives a description of all radial solutions of the equation, regular or singular at zero or infinity, without any condition of sign, and for any value of q.
