The author proves that a convex, affine complete, hyperbolic affine hypersphere in \((n+1)\)-dimensional unimodular affine space (n\(\geq 2)\) is Euclidean complete. He points out a gap in the proof of a more general assertion by \textit{S.-Y. Cheng} and \textit{S.-T. Yau} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 39, 839-866 (1986; Zbl 0623.53002)] and remarks that his result, combined with results of that paper, completes the proof of the fact that every convex, affine complete, hyperbolic affine hypersphere is asymptotic to the boundary of a convex cone with vertex at the centre.
