Basic static problems of classical uncoupled thermoelasticity are solved in quadratures for a sphere and the infinite space with a cavity. The solutions are obtained under most general and natural restrictions. By appeal to the method of \textit{V. D. Kupradzde, T. G. Gegelia, M. O. Basheleishvili}, and \textit{T. V. Burchuladze} [Three-dimensional problems of the mathematical theory of elasticity and thermoelasticity. Amsterdam, etc.: North-Holland (1979; Zbl 0406.73001)] four fundamental problems are solved in great detail. Convenience of using the Trefftz representation of solution is shown.
