    Let \(B_{n,m}f\) be the Bernstein polynomial in two variables, of degree (n,m), associated to the function f: \(S\to {\mathbb{R}}\), where \(S=[0,1]\times [0,1]\). Let \(B_{n,m}^{(q,r-q)}f\) the partial derivative of \(B_{n,m}f\) with respect to x of order q and with respect to y of order r-q, and \(B_{n,m}^{(q,r-q),e}f\) be the polynomial whose coefficients are the integral parts of the coefficients of the above polynomial. Let \(\| \cdot \|_ p\) be the norm of \(L_ p(S)\); \(\omega\) (f;\(\delta\),\(\epsilon\)) the modulus of continuity of f, \(A=3\omega (f^{(r)}_{q,r-q};(n-q)^{-1/2},(m-r+q)^{-1/2}),\) \(B=\omega (f^{(r)}_{q,r-q};q/n,r-q/m);\) \(\lambda (p)=1\) if \(p=1\), \(=2/p\) if \(2\leq p<+\infty\). Let \(\max (q,r-q)>1\), \(n_ 1=\min (n,m)\) and f be a function with all the partial derivatives of order r exist and are continuous in S. Then: (a) For \(1\leq p<\infty\) we have \[ \| f^{(r)}_{q,r-q}-B_{n,m}^{(q,r-q),e}f\|_ p\leq A+B+O(n_ 1^{-\lambda (p)}); \] (b) If \(p=\infty\) and the numbers n!/(n-q)!, \(m!/(m-r+q)!\), \(\triangle^{q}_{(x,n^{-1})}\triangle^{r- q}_{(y,m^{-1})}f(u_ 1,u_ 2)\) are integers, where \(u_ 1\) is either zero or \((n-q)/n\) and \(u_ 2\) is either zero or \((m-r+q)/m\) then \[ \| f^{(r)}_{q,r-q}-B_{n,m}^{(q,r-q),e}f\|_{\infty}\leq A+B+O(n_ 1^{-1}). \]
