Let F be a normal endofunctor of the category of compacta. Let F have degree n. Then \(F\cong Id^ n\) iff the map \(F\pi\) : F(Q\(\times Q)\to F(Q)\) is l-soft where Q is the Hilbert cube and \(\pi\) : \(Q\times Q\to Q\) is a projection.
