In this work the authors studied the stability of deformation of an elastic layer made of a Neo-Hooken material, which is incompressible. For this they set down the stability criteria, namely the total increment in strain energy under this perturbed deformation should be positive for stable motion. Negative total energy increment implies the unstable motion. Starting from these requirements they proved a couple of theorems about the stability conditions. Then they specialized this general approach to some deformations of the layer; namely non-uniform extension and rotation about distinct axes, and finally obtained the stability criteria for this type of deformations. This work is well written and very interesting for those researchers working in the area of stability.
