The author constructs characteristic classes of bundles with supplementary structures using a modified splitting principle. Let X be an analytic manifold and E a flat bundle on it, i.e. E has an holomorphic integrable connection \(\nabla\). Let \(\Omega_ X^.\) be the holomorphic De Rham complex and \(A^ i\) a quotient bundle of \(\Omega^ i_ X\); if \(f: P\to X\) is the flag bundle of E, the connection \(\nabla\) defines a morphism \(\tau: \Omega^ 1_ P\to f^*A^ 1\) and the integrability condition implies that \((\tau d)^ 2=0\). So \(\tau\) extends to the De Rham complex \(\tau: \Omega_ P^.\to A^._{\tau}\) where \(A^ i_{\tau}=f^*A^ i\). This defines an integrable \(\tau\)- connection \(\nabla_{\tau}\) of \(f^*E\). \(\nabla_{\tau}\) defines integrable \(\tau\)-connections \(\nabla_{\tau,k}\) on the splitting rank one bundles \(L_ k\) of \(f^*E\), and classes \((L_ k,\nabla_{\tau,k})\) in \(H^ 2(P,Z(1)\to A^._{\tau}).\) By defining on \(H^{2p}(P,Z(p)\to A^._{\tau})\) a left multiplication with \(H^{2p}(P,Z(p))\) the mentioned classes define classes of \(H^{2p}(P,Z(p)\to A^._{\tau})\) as p-symmetric sums of \((L_ k,\nabla_{\tau,k})\).
