By use of R-matrix formalism compatible Poisson brackets for coupled nonlinear systems associated with isospectral flows of operators like \[ \sum^{N}_{i=0}\lambda^ i(a_ iD^ 2+U_ i),\quad where\quad D=d/dx \] and where \(\lambda\) is the spectral parameter, are constructed. We recall that two Poisson brackets are said to be compatible if their sum again fulfills the Jacobi identity. This compatibility notion is needed to construct abelian symmetry groups, consisting of hamiltonian fields, for the corresponding dynamics.
