A modified ``game of two cars'' (Isaacs) is considered. The velocity of the evader E (``an aircraft'') is constant, that of the pursuer P (``a missile at the final phase of the flight'') decreases according to \(\dot V_ P=-kV^ 2_ P\). The terminal set T is determined by the \(r_ f\)- capture condition (E and P at distance \(r\leq r_ f)\). The application of the open-loop min-max principle leads to an explicit dependence of min- max controls \(u_ E\) and \(u_ P\) on a current and a final state (however, it is not discussed whether \(u_ P\) keeps the initial constraint \(| u_ P| \leq 1)\). The surface S formed by the corresponding min-max trajectories adjoining to T is interpreted as the boundary of the capture set. A practical way for P to overcome the dispersal surface on S (points belonging to different min-max trajectories) is indicated. It is noted that the obtained control law of pursuit provides practically better results than that of proportional navigation.
