Universell axiomatisierbare Klassen von Fastkörpern. (Universally axiomatizable classes of near-fields) (Q913864)

In this paper the class denoted by FKA of all near-fields which contain an abelian multiplicative subgroup of finite index is examined. According to a result of Wähling, with the exception of seven non-Dickson finite near-fields, every near-field in the class FKA is a Dickson near-field coupled to a commutative field. Here some further interesting structure theorems for certain subclasses of the class FKA are proved. Firstly it is shown that for any natural number n the class of all near-fields which contain an abelian multiplicative subgroup of index less than or equal to n is universally axiomatizable and secondly it is shown that the theory of each such class is closed with respect to planarity. It is also shown that these results can be carried over to the corresponding classes of KT-near-fields.
