The boundary of an elastic body for a given loading is said to be ``equally-strong'' if the first stress invariant is constant for each of the points of the boundary. The author discusses and develops necessary conditions for the existence of equally-strong surfaces for linearly elastic, homogeneous, and isotropic bodies. The paper is very specialized, but it could be of interest and use to theoreticians in elasticity.
