From author's introduction: This paper is a continuation of the author's article [Zap. Nauchn. Semin. Leningr. Otd. Mat. Inst. Steklova 138, 35-64 (1984; Zbl 0557.35048)] where a priori estimates were found for the first and second derivatives of the solutions of multidimensional nonlinear elliptic equations of the form (1) \(F(x,u,Du,D^ 2u)=0\). By means of these new estimates the author proves theorems about the existence of classical solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the equation (1). Formerly similar results were stated for uniformly elliptic equations under assumption of the convexity of F(x,u,p,r) with respect to r.
