    The Fourier-Jacobi expansion of a function f(x), -1\(\leq x\leq 1\), is given by \(f(x)\sim \sum_{n\geq 0}a_ np_ n^{(\alpha,\beta)}(x),\) where \(p_ n^{(\alpha,\beta)}(x)\) denotes the Jacobi polynomial of order (\(\alpha\),\(\beta\)) and degree n in x. The authors give the following theorem: If \(\alpha >-1\), \(\beta >-1\), \(\alpha +\beta >0\) and if \(\psi\) (t) is a positive increasing function which satisfies \[ \int^{\delta}_{t}u^{\alpha -}| \phi (u)| du=O(t^{\alpha +}\psi (t)),\quad t\to 0+,\quad \phi (u):=f(\cos u)-f(1), \] \[ \int^{a}_{t}u^{\beta +}| \phi (\pi -u)| du=O(t^{\alpha +}\psi (t)),\quad t\to 0+, \] then \[ 1/(n+1)\sum^{n}_{\nu =0}| S_{\nu}(1)-f(1)| =O(\psi (1/n)), \] where \(S_{\nu}\) the \(\nu\) th partial sum of the series. A lot of misprints compromises the paper.
