A projectivity from a group G to a group H is an isomorphism from the lattice L(G) of all subgroups of G to the lattice L(H) of all subgroups of H. A projectivity f from G to H is normal if whenever A is a normal subgroup of \(B\leq G\), then f(A) is normal in f(B). The projectivity f is nearly normal if whenever A is normal in a proper subgroup B of G, then f(A) is normal in f(B). It is known that a nearly normal projectivity need not be normal [\textit{A. Rottländer}, Math. Z. 28, 641-653 (1928; JFM 54.0144.01)]. The author studies some properties of nearly normal projectivities and, using these facts, proves that a projectivity f from a finite group G to a group \(G_ 1\) is normal if and only if f is normal when restricted to any doubly generated subgroup H of G which is either a p-group (p prime) or a P-group (for the definition of P-groups see [\textit{M. Suzuki}, Structure of a Group and the Structure of its Lattice of Subgroups (1956; Zbl 0070.254)]).
