The authors solve the equations that determine local geodesic coordinates by a Taylor series for which they give an estimate of the radius of convergence. \(\{\) The series itself cannot be used in praxi since the derivatives involved are not directly computable.\(\}\) An application is given to the approximate determination of geodesic distances used by the authors in statistical problems.
