    Let \(A=(a_{nk})\) \((k,n=0,1,...)\) be a lower-triangular infinite matrix of real numbers and put \(T_ n(f;x)=\sum^{n}_{k=0}a_{nk}s_ k(x)\) where \(s_ n(x)\) is the n-th partial sum of the Fourier series of \(f\in C^*[0,2\pi]\). The author proves: Suppose that \(a_{nk}\geq 0\) \((n,k=0,1,...)\), \(\sum^{n}_{k=0}a_{nk}=1\), \(a_{nk}\leq a_{nk+1}\) \((k=0,1,...,n-1,n=0,1,...)\) and that the modulus of continuity \(\omega\) of f satisfies \(\int^{\pi}_{u}t^{-2}\omega (t)dt=O(H(u))\) \((u\to 0+,H\geq 0)\), and that \(tH(t)=o(1)\) and \(\int^{t}_{0}H(u)du=O(tH(t))\) \((t\to 0+)\). Then \(\| T_ n(f)-f\| =O(a_{nn}H(a_{nn}))\).
