Using reproducing kernel space methods the author studies the truncated matrix Hamburger moment problem, an associated interpolation problem and the maximum entropy solutions (this latter is partially motivated by a question of H. Landau). Some formulas are presented for orthogonal matrix polynomials associated with a block Hankel matrix. An analogue of a recent formula of Alpay-Gohberg and Gohberg-Lerer for the number of roots of certain matrix polynomials is obtained. De Branges spaces (and de Branges paires) associated with a positive defined block Hankel matrix are investigated too.
