Regular elements of abstract affine near-rings (Q917663)

The author extends the characterization of the regular elements of a ring with respect to the quasi-ideals by \textit{O. Steinfeld} [Stud. Sci. Math. Hung. 8, 161-164 (1973; Zbl 0286.20085)] to a class of abstract affine near-rings. An element n of a right near-ring is regular if \(n=nxn\) for some \(x\in N\) and a quasi-ideal of N is a subgroup Q of \((N,+)\) such that \(QN\cap NQ\cap N^*Q\subseteq Q\), \(N^*Q=\{\sum (n_ i(m_ i+q_ i)- n_ im_ i)|\) \(n_ i,m_ i\in N\), \(q_ i\in Q\}\). An example is provided to show that the results are not valid in arbitrary near-rings.
