Let \({\mathcal M}\) be a uniformly bounded family of compact convex sets of Euclidean d-space \({\mathbb{R}}^ d\) and let \(1\leq k\leq d\). Put \(f(d,k)=2d\) for \(k\leq d-1\) and \(f(d,d)=d+1.\) The author proves that the dimension of \(\cap {\mathcal M}\) is at least k if and only if there is an \(\alpha >0\) such that every f(d,k) sets of \({\mathcal M}\) contain a k-dimensional set of the k-dimensional measure at least \(\alpha\). The second theorem says that, under certain conditions on a bounded set \(S\subset {\mathbb{R}}^ d\), every finite subset of S sees via S a set of positive k-dimensional volume if and only if for some \(\alpha >0\), every f(d,k) points of S see via S a set of k-dimensional volume at least \(\alpha\).
