Let E, X be CW-spectra an \(\{X_{\lambda}\}\) the set of all finite subspectra of X. This paper collects three results connected with the relation between \(E^*(X)\) and \(\lim_{\leftarrow}E^*(X_{\lambda})\). The natural map \(\pi\) : \(E^*(X)\to \lim_{\leftarrow}E^*(X_{\lambda})\) is always onto by a well known result of Adams and \(E^*(X)\) is called Hausdorff if \(\pi\) is an isomorphism. After giving the construction of the spectral sequence \(E_ 2^{s,t}=\lim^ s_{\leftarrow}E^ t(X_{\lambda})\Rightarrow E^*(X)\), the author shows that it always collapses. Next the Anderson dual \(\nabla E(G)\) of E is studied. For any abelian group G, \(\nabla E(G)\) is related to E by a universal coefficient sequence \[ 0\to Ext(E_{*-1}(X),G)\to \nabla E(G)^*(X)\to Hom(E_*(X),G)\to 0. \] Generalizing results of \textit{M. Huber} and \textit{W. Meier} [Comment. Math. Helv. 53, 239-257 (1978; Zbl 0432.55002)] it is shown that \(\lim^ q_{\leftarrow}\nabla E(G)^*(X_{\lambda})=0\), for \(q\geq 2\), and \(\lim^ 1_{\leftarrow}\nabla E(G)^*(X_{\lambda})\cong \lim^ 1_{\leftarrow}\) \(Hom(E_*(X_{\lambda}),G).\) The last part deals with the special case of \(E=v_ n^{-1}BP\) or \(E=E(n)\) where BP is the Brown Peterson spectrum for a prime p with \(BP_*={\mathbb{Z}}_{(p)}[v_ 1,v_ 2,...]\) and \(E(n)_*={\mathbb{Z}}_{(p)}[v_ 1,...,v_ n,v_ n^{-1}]\). If X is a countable CW-complex, t fixed with \(0\leq t\leq 2(p-1)\) and \(H_ m(X;{\mathbb{Q}})=0\) for all m with \(m\equiv t mod 2p-2\), then it is proved that \((v_ n^{-1}BP)^{m+1}(X)\) and \(E(n)^{m+1}(X)\) are both Hausdorff when \(m\equiv t mod 2p-2\).
