Projection methods for singular integral equations (Q918180)

The author gives necessary and sufficient conditions under which direct and indirect methods of finding the approximate solution of singular integral equations with Cauchy kernel are the same. Two examples as an application of the theory are given. In the two examples the author considers the iteration proposed by \textit{I. H. Sloan} [Math. Comput. 30, 758-764 (1976; Zbl 0343.45010)] applied to the direct method.
