Let G be a locally compact group, Rep(G) the equivalence classes of unitary representations, \(\hat G\) the unitary dual is equipped with the standard unitary dual topology. \(I\in \hat G\) denotes the trivial representation. If I is an isolated point in \(\hat G\) then G is said to have Kazhdan's property. If we take a subset \(R\subseteq \hat G\) and I is an isolated point in \(R\cup I\) than we recall that G has property (T;R). This definition allows the authors to put many interesting problems. For example, when 1). R is the set of all finite dimensional (FD) representations, 2). \(R=R(F)\) is the set of all finite representations. Let \(\Gamma\) be a lattice of G, and G is a product of two groups which have property (T) then (this is one of the main results of the work) \(\Gamma\) has property (T;R(F)). They also notice that they believe that the same is true for any irreducible lattice. The other new result is the following Theorem. Suppose \(\Gamma\) is a finitely generated group satisfying: a). \(\Gamma\) has property (T;FD); b). \(H^ 1(\Gamma,V)=0\) for all finite dimensional unitary \(\Gamma\)-modules. Suppose \(\Gamma\) acts isometrically and ergodically on a compact manifold M. Then the \(\Gamma\) action on M is infinitesimally rigid. Furthermore, \(H^ 1(\Gamma,C^{\infty}(M))=0\).
