    The authors study the continuity of the singular integral operator \(\alpha P_++\beta P_ -\) where \(P_+\) is an analytic projection and \(P_ -\) is a co-analytic projection, \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) are measurable functions. The authors discuss the conditions of the weights W for which these operators are continuous in \(L_ 2(T,W dm)\), where dm denote the normalized Lebesgue measure on \(T=\{\zeta \in {\mathbb{C}}:| \zeta | =1\}.\) The main result is the following: Suppose \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) are functions in \(L^{\infty}(T,dm)\). For a weight W the following conditions are equivalent. (i) \(\int_{T}| (\alpha P_++\beta P_-)f|^ 2W dm\leq \int_{T}| f|^ 2W dm\), for all f in \(A+\bar A_ 0\), where \(A=\{f\in C(T):\;\hat f(k)=0,\quad k=-1,-2,...\},\) (\(\hat f(k)\) be the Fourier coefficients of f), \(A_ 0=\{f\in A:\;\hat f(0)=0\},\) \(\bar A_ 0\) be the subspace of all complex conjugates of functions of \(A_ 0.\) (ii) \((1-| \alpha |^ 2)W\geq 0\) almost everywhere (a.e.) \((1- | \beta |^ 2)W\geq 0\) a.e. and there exists a function k in \(H^ 1\) such that \[ | (1-\alpha {\bar \beta})W-k|^ 2\leq (1- | \alpha |^ 2)(1-| \beta |^ 2)W^ 2\quad a.e. \]
