The paper deals with the following functional inequality: \(\| f(x+y)- f(x)-f(y)\| \leq \epsilon \cdot \min \{\| f(x+y)\|\), \(\| f(x)+f(y)\| \}\) for x,y\(\in X\) and \(f:X\to Y\), where X and Y are real normed spaces and \(0\leq \epsilon <1\). It is proved that the solutions of this inequality have properties similar to those of additive functions. Some of them are: local boundedness at a point implies continuity, boundedness on a set of second category with the Baire property implies continuity, if \(Y={\mathbb{R}}\) continuity and Lipschitz property are equivalent.
