The orientation problem arises in many applications in computer aided geometric design and computational geometry. It is important to determine the orientation of closed planar curves which are usually defined in a piecewise fashion with various type of curve segments. The author applies a set of algorithms for determined orientation. These algorithms are based on Green's theorem, the turning tangents theorem and the Jordan closed curve theorem.
